Fractional Laser Non-Ablative / Lumenis Resurfx
This Lumenis system (ResurFX) is a fractional, non-ablative laser with a wavelength of 1565 nm. “Fractional” means treatment is delivered in a patterned manner, leaving surrounding skin intact to support regeneration. The treated fraction determines both efficacy and safety.
It activates collagen production in a specific percentage of the skin, leaving the rest of the skin intact so that it can regenerate. This specific percentage will determine both the result of the treatment and its safety.
Non-ablative lasers do not vaporize or destroy the skin surface. They create controlled columns of dermal heating to stimulate neocollagenesis while preserving the epidermis. Due to lower absorption, they are more penetrative and can be highly effective, with a lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring.
Downtime is minimal; erythema typically resolves within 12–24 hours, allowing rapid return to work and social activity while skin remodeling continues.
